Chris has more than fifteen years’ experience in geotechnical engineering, natural hazard assessment and post-event response.

Based in our Nelson office, Chis is a a Principal Geotechnical Engineer, as well as a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) in New Zealand and a registered Civil Engineer in California.

Chris has worked across a wide range of geotechnical and earthquake engineering projects, with experience across natural hazard assessment, slope stabilisation, ground improvement, retaining walls, foundation design, seismic strengthening, roadways and land development. Before joining Davis Ogilvie in 2021, he managed and designed projects in Wellington and Christchurch.

His experience includes natural hazard assessment following major seismic and rainfall events, including the Canterbury earthquake sequence, the Kaikōura seismic event, Cyclone Gita and severe rainfall events in 2021 and 2022. He has also provided design advice and reporting for councils including Nelson City, Marlborough District, Wellington City and Christchurch City.

Markham is an experienced engineering geologist based in Nelson. His work spans a range of geotechnical projects, including residential, commercial and subdivision developments, where he is involved in site investigations, hazard assessments, earthworks monitoring and geotechnical design. 

His experience includes site project management, ground modelling, slope stability assessments, liquefaction assessments and geotechnical assessments for foundation design. Markham also prepares geotechnical reports that meet the requirements of building and resource consent applications in residential, commercial and subdivision projects. 

Tony is a highly experienced surveyor who supports land development projects across Tasman, and a keen mountain biker who helps develop and maintain the local trails.

Tony is a director and registered professional surveyor with more than 25 years’ experience in land development. He began his surveying career on the West Coast, working on mining licence surveys and rural subdivision projects.

He now specialises in managing developments ranging from two lot urban subdivisions through to multi lot greenfield developments, with involvement in rural, residential and industrial projects across the top of the South Island. His work spans the land development life cycle, including concept planning, topographical and cadastral surveying, engineering design and contract administration.
