We often start by building a clear picture of the site conditions. This can include geotechnical investigations, surveying and environmental assessment to understand ground conditions, boundaries, levels and any site-specific considerations that may influence the project.

Structural design sits at the intersection of form and function. Our engineers work alongside architects and the design project teams to develop solutions that respond to the site conditions while meeting New Zealand Building Code requirements and the intent of the architectural vision.

REMEDIATION AND CONSENT
Where approvals are required, we prepare planning and technical documentation to support consenting pathways. For contaminated land, this can include a Detailed Site Investigation and Remediation Action Plan prepared under NESCS and submitted as part of a consent application where required.

CONSTRUCTION MONITORING
We remain involved during the build through construction monitoring, site observations and technical checks where needed. This provides confidence that the construction is being completed in accordance with the Building Consented plans and conditions.

We are often engaged early, when site conditions, constraints and consenting pathways are being explored. Early involvement can include investigations, surveys or preliminary technical input that helps inform design decisions. We also work with project teams at later stages, including detailed design, consenting and construction support.
Geotechnical investigations help build an understanding of soil, rock and groundwater conditions. They are commonly required where projects involve foundations, earthworks, sloping ground or subdivision and often support design, building consent or resource consent. The level of investigation varies depending on the site and what is proposed.
Where approvals are required, we prepare technical reports and documentation to support consent applications. This can include input for Assessments of Environmental Effects, geotechnical reports and other discipline specific information required by councils. The scope of work depends on planning rules, site conditions and the type of development.
