Challenges Identified
A severe weather event in August 2022 caused widespread land instability in the Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough regions, including many slips from Nelson City Council land onto private land or private land onto Council land/assets.
What We Did
We were engaged to provide technical expertise to understand slip hazards in detail and options to remediate hazards.
Following subsequent rain events, we continue to monitor and assess 15 locations throughout the Nelson region.
