The Brief

We were engaged by Grey District Council to evaluate the sewer infrastructure in Runanga and Dunollie.

Challenges Identified

This project involved extensive assessment of the current condition of the sewer network and evaluation of the issues identified in terms of severity, scale and the impact those issues have on the overall performance of the sewer network.

What We Did

Following extensive topographical surveys of the roads and inspections of the manholes for invert levels, a full AutoCAD Civil 3D model was developed for the sewer network. Combined with CCTV footage of the larger mains, this provided the data required for a detailed review of the network.

Once the current condition was determined, we made recommendations on where maintenance, rehabilitation, replacement and/or upgrades were necessary. We then completed the engineering design for the replacement of a large section of damaged and aged sewer main, along with the design of a new sewer pump station.

Feedback from Council was positive, and we continue to advise on the ongoing maintenance and upgrades for the Runanga and Dunollie sewer network.
