The Brief

We were engaged to support the redevelopment of the Parfitt Place site, which until recently contained the Greymouth High School Hostel. The old building was demolished to make way for an exclusive subdivision next to Greymouth Hospital.

What We Did

Parfitt Place is named after Dorothy Parfitt, who was the first woman in New Zealand to be elected chairman of a Hospital Board and served on the Greymouth Hospital Board for 36 years.

We provided a practical subdivision on a site surrounded by already developed land. The site is particularly suited to the infill residential development undertaken, as it is in close proximity to medical services, grocery and fuel outlets, as well as primary and secondary schools.

Producing the result for the client was a combined effort between the Greymouth and Nelson offices. Our Christchurch office also assisted with some of the more detailed engineering aspects of the project.
