Senior Engineering Geologist

Based in: Christchurch

You’ll often find Russ out on site in Christchurch and Timaru, and many places in between, applying his geotechnical and environmental expertise across a wide range of projects.

Russ is an experienced engineering geologist and our Timaru Geotechnical Lead. He provides geotechnical and environmental advice to clients across the residential, commercial, tourism, renewable energy and local government sectors.

His experience spans South Africa, the United States, Central Africa and West Africa. Closer to home, it's included post-earthquake assessments in Christchurch and natural hazard, liquefaction and rock slope stability work for developments in the lower North Island, Nelson Tasman, the West Coast and Central Otago.

Working alongside our multidisciplinary team, he brings experience in foundation design, natural hazard and liquefaction assessments, rock slope stability work, construction monitoring, geological and geomorphological mapping, as well as projects involving flooding, stopbanks and coastal environments.
