Following the successful delivery of several Central Otago projects and with a strong pipeline of future work in the region, we recently opened a local office in Wānaka. We are now seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer or Engineering Technician to join our Central Otago team and play a key role in delivering high-quality civil engineering services to the local market.

Your purpose

Working within a multidisciplinary team of engineers, surveyors and planners, you will contribute to the design and delivery of a wide range of projects across the South Island, with a particular focus on Central Otago.

You will apply your civil engineering knowledge across infrastructure design, including roading, water supply, stormwater and wastewater systems, while building strong relationships with clients, contractors and local authorities throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include

  • Delivering civil engineering design for infrastructure and land development projects, including roading, water supply, stormwater and wastewater systems
  • Preparing technical reports, design documentation and engineering assessments
  • Undertaking construction administration and site observation
  • Collaborating closely with our local team including survey and engineering managers, to deliver integrated land development solutions
  • Engaging with clients, contractors and local authorities throughout project delivery
  • Applying 3D design tools and modelling software to support engineering solutions
  • Managing your own projects and workload to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients

What you will bring

  • At least three years’ experience in infrastructure design or land development, along with a relevant qualification
  • Experience with3D design using Autodesk Civil3D
  • Experience with stormwater and water modelling software such as MikeURBAN, EPANET, SSA, PCSWMM and HEC-HMS
  • Familiarity with New Zealand standards and engineering codes of practice – an understanding of the QLDC Land Development and Subdivision Code of Practice would be an advantage
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to manage your time effectively and take ownership of your workload and projects
  • A positive attitude and enjoy contributing to a collaborative team environment
