Carlos Rosado
Senior Hydrogeologist
Based in: Christchurch
A highly skilled hydrogeologist whose expertise includes hydrogeology, geology and geophysics.
Carlos helps with projects where understanding groundwater early reduces risk and informs design. His work is often part of development, water supply, stormwater, wastewater, dewatering or contaminated land projects, and he has led and co-led several major groundwater investigations.
He brings together field investigations, drilling, aquifer testing, monitoring data and numerical and analytical modelling to understand how groundwater behaves – whether the focus is groundwater quality, groundwater quantity, groundwater-surface water interaction, coastal aquifers, or contamination risk, depending on the site and the project.
He holds a PhD in Geology, with his research focused on Christchurch’s coastal aquifer system, including seawater intrusion, submarine freshwater discharge, and multi-layered confined aquifers. Alongside this specialist knowledge, he brings considerable experience in technical advisory and expert evidence, project management, stakeholder engagement, reporting and science communication.
