Project
Parfitt Place
Region
Greymouth, Nelson, Christchurch

The site at Parfitt place, until recently, contained the Greymouth High School Hostel. The old building was demolished to make way for an exclusive subdivision next to the Greymouth Hospital.

Parfitt Place is named after Dorothy Parfitt who was the first woman in New Zealand to be elected chairman of a Hospital Board. She served on the board of the Greymouth Hospital for 36 years. DO provided a practical subdivision on a site surrounded by already developed land.

The site is particularly suited to the infill residential development undertaken as it in close proximity to medical services, grocery and fuel outlets, as well as primary and secondary schools. Producing the result for the client was a combined effort between the Greymouth and Nelson offices. The Christchurch office also assisted with some of the more detailed engineering aspects of the job.
