OUR SERVICES

Whatever your geotechnical challenge is, we can help.

Whether you’re building your dream home, developing a subdivision, have a roading or infrastructure project, or are building on a slope, we have the expertise to investigate your ground conditions and check how it is going to respond.

We assess soil, rock and groundwater conditions and provide geotechnical input that can sit alongside design and consenting activities. That can include investigations, analysis and reporting, or more focused advice where you need it.

Where it’s relevant to the site, we also undertake natural hazard and rockfall assessment and flood protection works, and we can support your project by providing foundational recommendations for residential and commercial developments.

Our environmental scientists investigate land, water and air.

We work with all stakeholders and service providers to help create environmentally sustainable outcomes. Our comprehensive services can be provided as part of a multi-disciplinary project, or as a standalone service for any project specifically requiring environmental science expertise and solutions.

We carry out contaminated land investigations, environmental monitoring and technical environmental assessment, documented through reports that reference relevant standards and guidelines.

With over 90 years of experience, we provide a full range of survey services to support projects across the South Island.

This includes site, cadastral and topographical surveys, construction setout, asbuilt surveys and monitoring. Where access, safety or site detail matters, we use advanced survey technologies such as drone surveying, LiDAR and 3D laser scanning to capture accurate information efficiently.

Our Licensed Cadastral Surveyors also support legal and title requirements for subdivisions, easements and new titles.

With a range of survey services , we provide the accuracy that helps our clients make decisions about property, managing public or private infrastructure, or delivering a design or construction project.

From field capture to digital insight, we transform spatial data into useful tools that support planning, design and long-term decisions about your assets.

Our geospatial team combines advanced surveying technology with technical expertise to deliver reliable spatial intelligence. From capturing precise field data to developing digital models and mapping outputs, we provide accurate information to help our clients make better decisions about their projects and their assets.

Our planning team excels in all facets of resource management planning, playing a pivotal role in every project we undertake.

Our planners work across all stages of development, from early feasibility assessments through consenting, design integration and final approvals. We bring a collaborative, solution-focused approach to every project, keeping stakeholders informed and enabling risks to be managed and outcomes to be aligned with local planning frameworks and long-term community goals.

From large-scale developments and private plan changes to tailored site-specific advice, we guide projects from early strategy through to delivery, preparing documentation and providing expert evidence at council and Environment Court hearings when required.

Delivering civil engineering expertise across land development, three waters, roading and flood protection infrastructure.

Our civil engineering team supports projects from feasibility through to construction and completion. Dedicated to creating safe and sustainable environments, we excel in the design and management of essential facilities and infrastructure.

With a focus on growing and connecting communities, we solve complex challenges and deliver comprehensive, sustainable and efficient civil engineering services.

Structural engineering support, from early advice through to design, construction and assessment.

We offer an extensive range of solutions, including innovative timber materials, concrete and steel structures, seismic assessments and foundation design.

Whether you’re constructing commercial buildings, architectural houses, or require retaining wall structures, we have the local expertise and knowledge to guide and support you throughout the process. Our comprehensive multi-disciplinary services bring everything together under one roof, simplifying the process.

FAQ

Got questions?
We’ve got answers.

We offer civil, geotechnical and structural engineering, planning and resource management, land surveying and environmental science. Together, our teams support projects from early advice through to design, consenting and construction across the South Island.

Projects often involve more than one discipline, and the right starting point depends on what you’re planning and the stage you’re at. We help clients understand which services are relevant and how they fit together.

Yes. We provide engineering, planning, surveying and environmental services within one organisation. Some projects involve a single service, while others benefit from coordinated input across multiple disciplines.

Advice can be useful at different stages, from early site and feasibility discussions through to design, consenting and construction support. Engagement varies depending on the project and its complexity.

Geotechnical engineering focuses on ground conditions and geohazards. Structural engineering focuses on buildings and structural elements, and civil engineering focuses on infrastructure such as earthworks, water services and access. These disciplines often work together on the same project.

Surveying is commonly involved early in a project to provide accurate information about land, levels and boundaries. This information supports planning, design and engineering decisions throughout a project.

Yes. Our planning team provides planning and resource management services, including support through district and regional planning processes. Planning advice is often coordinated with surveying and engineering input where required.

Projects typically begin with a conversation about the site, the proposal and the stage the project is at. From there, we outline which services may be relevant and how they fit together.
