Russell Benge

Russell is a Licensed Surveyor with over 25 years’ experience. He has worked for DO since graduating from Otago University in 1994 and he became a Director/Shareholder in 2007.

Russell’s areas of expertise are in the surveying, resource management, land development and construction fields. He specialises in the management of development projects, including all aspects of rural and urban cadastral surveys, unit title developments, the resource management process and civil construction processes. He has a comprehensive knowledge in concept design, feasibility studies, resource consent applications and hearings, engineering design for subdivisions, contract administration, project management, engineering surveying and pre-purchase reports.

Russell has a particular interest in urban design and its application to subdivision, having written papers and presented to conferences on this topic. Russell is a current member of the Christchurch City, Nelson City and Tasman District Urban Design Panels, which has added to the extent of his understanding of urban design principles and best practice.
