In collaboration with Abley Consultants, we designed a pivotal 30m roundabout on Rangiora-Woodend Road. Its three-sided layout and connection to a right-of-way optimises traffic flow, prioritises safety, and creates shared spaces for vehicles and pedestrians.
The innovative double-lane 30m roundabout is customised for B-trains and semi-trailer access. It seamlessly connects State Highway 1 to the bustling commercial area, improving traffic flow and operational efficiency for businesses.
These roundabouts not only connect areas within Ravenswood but also serve as a future northbound route for traffic from Rangiora. Once the Woodend bypass on the realigned Northern Motorway is completed, they will become vital bypasses for northbound traffic from Christchurch, ensuring seamless transportation and supporting future development.
