Russ Molyneux

Russ is an experienced engineering geologist and our Timaru Geotechnical Lead. He provides geotechnical and environmental advice to clients across the residential, commercial, renewable energy, and local government sectors.

He works closely with our planners, surveyors, civil and structural engineers to deliver practical geotechnical solutions for land development projects. Russ’ work includes investigations for building and resource consents and private plan changes, foundation design for new dwellings and additions, multi-unit buildings and commercial structures, natural hazard and liquefaction assessments, pre-purchase reports, forensic engineering services, peer review, and preliminary advice on road pavement and on-site stormwater or wastewater disposal. He also supervises construction and earthworks.

Russ has a strong interest in projects such as brownfield redevelopments, coastal engineering using nature-based solutions to mitigate erosion, flooding and stopbank design, geological and geomorphological mapping as well as geotechnical design in karst environments, rock slope stability assessments, and ground improvements.
