To be successful in this role you will ideally have the following

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in land surveying
  • A diploma in surveying minimum requirement
  • A knowledge of 12D, landonline and Autodesk Civil 3D

  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be able to manage your time effectively and take ownership of the surveying division’s local output
  • A positive, fun and outgoing personality to our collaborative team environment.

What we offer
We offer the opportunity to work within a long-established and highly respected South Island consultancy delivering a diverse range of engineering projects. You will be supported by experienced professionals across multiple disciplines while enjoying a high level of autonomy in your role.

We also offer excellent remuneration and a strong commitment to maintaining a healthy work–life balance.

We’re a friendly, supportive, diverse and inclusive team, with a strong focus on creating a positive work environment. Our people are highly skilled and passionate about what they do, and we work on a wide range of projects, from residential and commercial developments to large-scale roading and infrastructure projects.

While this role is Wanaka-based, our five offices work closely together on projects across the South Island. This gives you the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from across the business and contribute to projects in other regions as well.

In addition to working with a team of great people, you can also expect the following benefits:

  • Professional development – we encourage our staff to keep learning and growing. We will cover the cost of Survey and Spatial NZ (S+SNZ) subscriptions and provide opportunity for meeting CPD requirements with a range of in-house and external courses.
  • Wellbeing – we offer subsidised health insurance through Southern Cross, access to our online wellbeing programme, regular mental health and wellness presentations, paid entry to various sports events, and 24/7 EAP service.
  • Environmental – we care about the environment. We are a carbon-positive company committed to minimising our impact through regular tree planting and other environmental initiatives.
  • Communities – we care about the communities where we live and work. We support them through hands-on involvement, raising awareness, and backing causes that make a meaningful difference to New Zealanders’ lives.
  • History – we have been locally owned and operated for more than 90 years. You will work alongside company directors and experienced colleagues with a depth of knowledge across the business.

If you’re looking for a role that combines interesting technical work, a supportive team and the opportunity to be part of our growth in Central Otago, we’d love to hear from you.
