The Timaru team had the incredible opportunity to contribute to the live-action remake of a major Hollywood production. Land surveying services helped the client to digitise and or/recreate certain filming sites from the stunning Waitaki and Mackenzie Districts within their offsite studio.
Filming locations were set in the Waitaki and MacKenzie Districts. The vast and intricate landscapes demanded extensive surveying which included handling large datasets. With vast, detailed landscapes, we employed cutting-edge UAV drones and topographical survey technology. Data from Omarama Clay Cliffs, Ahuriri Valley, terrace flats, and high country tarns were captured.
We supplied textured and coloured point cloud survey data, helping the production team recreate these scenes in the studio. This contributed to offsite filming /editing and seamless integration of real-world locations into the production.
