Colin Forsyth

Colin is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 30 years’ civil engineering expertise gained across Scotland, England, Australia and New Zealand. A respected industry leader, he has held senior roles in multidisciplinary teams including project manager for multi-utility frameworks and design lead on civil and large-scale infrastructure projects.

During his time at GHD in Christchurch, Colin played a pivotal role in leading the Sewer Emergency Response after the 2011 earthquakes. His leadership continued as a Team Leader in the Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild Team (SCIRT), coordinating diverse teams and complex infrastructure projects.

Colin experience spans utility infrastructure, asset investment planning, implementation and client-focused project delivery. Beyond his impressive technical expertise, he brings strong leadership, a personable style and commitment to facilitate successful project outcomes.

When he returned to Scotland in 2014, Colin collaborated with Scottish Water on critical infrastructure projects, contributing significantly to the field. He now applies these insights to New Zealand’s Three Waters initiatives, recognising the potential parallels of both models.
