We’re thrilled to announce that Sophie South, Principal Civil Engineer, has been named a recipient of a 2024 Emerging Director Award. This prestigious recognition from the Canterbury Branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD) highlights Sophie’s potential as a future leader in governance and her dedication to applying her technical expertise to promote best practices in business direction.

As a Chartered Professional Engineer, Sophie plays a key role in helping to lead our civil engineering team. She brings extensive expertise in stormwater design, hydrology, environmental science, wastewater management, and water modelling. She also serves as a board member for Habitat for Humanity Christchurch.

The IoD’s Emerging Director Award aims to support up-and-coming talent in governance. It recognises individuals who are early in their directorship journey, with fewer than five years of experience in independent or non-executive roles.

Sophie is one of ten recipients across Aotearoa for 2024.

Congratulations, Sophie!
