We have a great opportunity for a senior environmental scientist to join our growing environmental science team. The majority of the role involves the assessment of contaminants in our land, water and air for a wide range of projects ranging from residential subdivisions and commercial developments to large scale roading and infrastructure projects.

The ideal applicant should possess the following skills and experience:

  • a tertiary qualification in environmental science, geology, chemistry or similar
  • a postgraduate degree in a related discipline would be an advantage
  • be a Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) and working towards becoming a Site Contamination Specialist
  • have a minimum of eight years relevant experience either in New Zealand or internationally
  • be able to lead land contamination assessment projects, with support from the broader team
  • lead and undertake land contamination analysis including a range of field work investigation techniques for a wide range of site scenarios
  • prepare technical assessments to support a range of environmental projects including, subdivision applications, resource consent applications and pre-purchase due diligence assessments
  • mentoring junior staff in their technical and professional development
  • seek further work opportunities and lead the preparation of proposals to clients
  • maintain and develop great relationships with internal and external clients.

The position has flexibility to be full time, or part time and could also involve a combination of work within the office and from home if required. This can be discussed further during the interview process.

The bulk of the environmental science team are based in Christchurch, but we would consider applicants able to work in our other offices including Nelson, Greymouth and Timaru.
