We’re looking for a Land Surveyor (or experienced Survey Technician) to join our high-trust, high-performing team in Timaru. With affordable living, short commutes and adventure on your doorstep, you can build a rewarding and enjoyable career. Here, you’ll work on large, complex and high-profile projects – the kind of variety that grows your expertise.

2026 start available.

About the role

This is a growth-focused role for a Land Surveyor passionate about cadastral surveying and land development. You’ll work across a broad range of projects including residential, rural, commercial, large-scale infrastructure and land development.

No two days are the same. You’ll travel throughout the beautiful Aoraki region, work alongside great people and be supported to grow professionally – whether that’s progressing toward licensing, technical mastery, or developing leadership capability.

About you

You’ll bring strong technical and problem-solving skills, along with clear and confident communication. You’re someone who can work independently when needed, while also contributing positively within a collaborative team. You enjoy variety, adapt easily to changing environments and feel at home working outdoors. Most importantly, you will turn up with the right attitude to make a positive difference and have a genuine willingness to learn and grow professionally.

The ideal applicant would possess the following skills

  • 4+ years’ post-graduate experience in land surveying
  • Bachelor of Surveying or equivalent tertiary qualification
  • Proficiency with GPS/GNSS, Robotic Total Stations, and 12d Model or AutoDesk Civil 3D
  • Knowledge of Leica equipment (advantageous)
  • Demonstrated project management and client liaison skills
  • Current full driver’s licence
  • A positive, proactive approach and sense of humour
