The team at DO have been involved in Steptember each year since 2015. Steptember is a step challenge which runs for 28 days throughout the month of September. In teams of four the goal is to take 10,000 per person for each day during the month, logging the steps online as you go. Steptember helps increase your fitness levels, develops new healthy habits, encourages some friendly competition and also raises incredibly important funds to support people living with cerebral palsy (CP) right across NZ. As well as increase activity during the month, Steptember is a fundraising event for Cerebral Palsy. In 2017 the DO team consisted of 40 staff, across our Christchurch, Nelson and Greymouth offices. As a group we took almost 15 million steps and raised over $1,700. We look forward to being involved and supporting the Cerebral Society again in future years.
Since 2015 Davis Ogilvie have been proud sponsors of the TEDx Christchurch events. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. TEDxChristchurch is a feast for the mind, body and soul, bringing together curious, open, passionate people to be intrigued, inspired, provoked and uplifted. We have loved being involved in these events, and look forward to the next one already.
Since 2012, many of the male staff here in the Christchurch office have been involved in Movember, raising funds for men’s health and raising awareness. There is always a good mixture of moustache styles on display throughout the month of November, providing entertainment for everyone in the office. In 2017 the team raised over $1200.

This is something that appears to happen less and less in the age of technology, so through the Kids Day Out Variety Show the families get to sit down and take in the amazing performances.
