The team at Davis Ogilvie have been working alongside the Department of Conservation (DOC) in the Kaituna Valley for over 2.5 years. Our previous work in this area has involved design and construction of several nesting platforms for the Australian Crested Grebe, an endangered native bird.
More recently our staff headed out to the Kaituna River for the afternoon. Working alongside DOC representatives our staff were split into two teams for the afternoon. As a group we planted over 350 trees to assist with the regeneration of the river bank, and helped set a number of predator traps to help keep the bird life in the area safe.
The weather was picture perfect and a wonderful afternoon was had by all involved. We look forward to an ongoing relationship with DOC in the Kaituna Valley area.
